Johanna Anders, Managing Director, Nuveen Compliance
Johanna M. Anders, CSCP® is a Managing Director heading Marketing and Distribution (Americas) Compliance at Nuveen. She has over 20 years of experience within the financial services industry with an emphasis in Marketing Compliance and Sales Practices. She is currently responsible for leading the Marketing Review team and the Electronic Communications Monitoring programs, in addition the Broker-Dealer Compliance team has joined her group to build on the synergies between Marketing and Distribution and the key role these programs play in supporting Nuveen’s product development efforts.
Johanna’s team also provides Compliance support to new product initiatives as well as other cross-functional compliance support for global and corporate marketing and emerging areas of communications and technology efforts, such as Social Media and mobile applications. Ms. Anders also chairs the Nuveen Disclosure Oversight Team (NDOT) which helps to ensure that marketing or promotional material, advertising, sales literature or other communications used in connection with Nuveen’s products and strategies contain appropriate disclosure reflecting the evolving policies, practices, market conditions and other factors affecting such products and strategies. Previously at Nuveen, Ms. Anders had various Compliance shared services under her leadership such as the Ethics and Privacy Offices, firm-wide Records Management Program and eDiscovery, and Compliance Training.
Kristin Chouteau, Senior Director, Marketing Process Management & Controls, TIAA
Kristin Chouteau is a Senior Director for Marketing Process Management and Controls at TIAA, leading programs focused on managing regulatory and operational risk. Kristin leads the Marketing Supervisory Controls team focused on delivering a streamlined regulatory review and approval process for Marketing material. Previously, she led the Marketing Process Management and Controls team responsible for managing the relationships and deliverables with Operational Risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, and Continuous Improvement partners. The primary responsibility of the team was to integrate programs into a common focus of improving processes from the aspects speed, risk, cost and quality.
Prior to joining TIAA, Kristin worked at Bank of America for nine years where she focused on process improvement across Technology, Human Resources, Wealth Management, Investment Banking, and Home Loans. Kristin’s favorite responsibilities were coaching six sigma candidates and data analytics.
Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics from UNC Charlotte. She realized that a career in engineering did not suit her personality late in her senior year, and convinced the local banks to take a chance on her — she has happily worked in financial services since. Kristin is Six Sigma Master Black Belt certified. Kristin lives in Charlotte, NC with her son, Cole, and two golden retrievers, Luke and River.
